I had written 22 years ago that I would be amazed if I ever found a Tru-Vue viewer with which to view the fable card I had found. That comment came, I believe, before Ebay. This year I thought to take a look and immediately found a number of viewers, this one even including nine other samples.

Fox and Crow Keychain, 1950
1950? Keychain by Cronenbourg Beers CORSO FLEURI 65. The keychain contains a plastic triangle showing the fable La Fontaine “Le Corbeau and Le Renard.” The verso shows the brewery’s coat of arms, as established in 1664.

Despite my best hopes, I believe that this menu has nothing to do with fables but only with a lovely fountain in Quebec City. But since I have it and can never be sure, I will include it here. A steak cost $21 Canadian at that time. I bet that the price has gone up since then.
