Abstract

"Dedicated to former Creighton men now serving in the United States Armed Forces."

The Bluejay Service News was a newsletter distributed to former students of Creighton University who were serving in the military during World War II. It provided information, gathered from letters to family and friends as well as to the editors of the newsletter, about those in uniform. The newsletter ran from June 1943 until November 1945.

The original newsletters used to create digital copies of the Bluejay Service News are held by Creighton Prep (Omaha, Nebraska). Creighton University Archives has worked with Creighton Prep to digitize the newsletters and make them available online here.

Some issues are missing and others are in poor condition. Creighton University Archives will appreciate the loan or donation of items so we can complete and improve the quality of the online collection. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) was used during scanning to allow searching, but the low quality of original copies--created by mimeograph or similar technology--yielded poor results, which limits searchability.
