Biographical / Historical

Blessed Alix LeClerc (c. 1276-1332) was a French nun and the founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis in Reims. Influenced by St. Peter Fourier’s reform efforts and the ideals of the Notre Dame Sisters, Alix dedicated her life to the care of orphans and the poor. Her commitment to education and charity was deeply rooted in the spiritual values of her time. Recognized for her significant contributions to social welfare, Alix was beatified by the Church. Her congregation continues to carry forward her mission of compassion and service, reflecting the ultimate ideals of Christian charity.
